Bob at Clifton
A few miles from where I live in Salford, on the other side of the ring road, M60, there is a country park called Clifton. It was created when the Ring Road was being built with tons of earth being removed from the site to build the embankments on the motorway. It was then tidied up, a lake created, and wild areas which are great for walking.
I decided to take Bob there for a walk. The paths around the lake are edged by Himalayan Balsam, which is a non-native species flourishing in the English countryside and not allowing native plants to grow. It has flowered all summer and its flowers smell beautiful.
A case of beauty and the beast I think.
