End of...
...a perfect day, in which we did a whole lot of nothing.
Sat in the back garden and enjoyed the sunshine from breakfast to near sunset. Having lazily poked a camera into the faces of numerous butterflies throughout the day (12x zoom is good for that, don't have to even move sometimes) with nothing to blip home about we took a walk along this old abandoned rail line to try and catch a nice sunset.
This old line used to carry molasses to the yeast production facility near Menstrie, the same place that the eccentric old TV scientist Dr Magnus Pyke used to work up until the 1970s. He even made it on to Tops of The Pops in Thomas Dolby's video for She Blinded Me With Science. One of his off-the-wall suggestions when there was a lack of storage for an excess of blood donations was to use the excess to make black puddings. Yum.
The lines been closed since the mid 1980s but the tracks remain and are good for walking all the way up until here where it's blocked off at the bridge over the River Devon.
The sunset was nice, but I liked this better.
