Salt Trays
This is a great strategy I've found with the help of Landon's new teacher to work on his letters/numbers...the salt tray. I've had a difficult time 'reaching' Landon when it comes to letter recognition and number recognition. His kind of learning is going to have to be hands-on and fun...and so we had a choice of doing salt trays during homework time. I also helped set each kid in the class up with one, and I'm hoping that they don't knock them all over :) He did the number 5 in this picture with his forefinger, shook the tray gently from side to side, and continued to practice each number from 1 to 10.
After homework time with everyone, it was Loren's night to practice at the Soccer Complex with the players from the U.K. We had our 3 and took Cody along as well. The ones who didn't have practice really enjoyed kicking the soccer ball around and running with the puppy. We're still getting used to life with a dog again, as on the way home we were going to grab dinner and remembered we had the dog. We felt a little silly camped on the small grassy area right alongside the Taco Bell drive-thru so the dog could be with us...but that's how we ended the night with a few strange looks from the drivers. We know the puppy could probably be crated for longer periods, but I felt like taking him along anyway. I know I have a few things coming up that is going to require testing the length I can leave him, but my last test in leaving him ended up with quite a bit of howling on the backyard trampoline! Today he turned 5 months old---happy 'month-day' sweet puppy :)
