The Dormition of the Theotokos (Greek: Kimisis) is a Great Feast of the Eastern Orthodox Church which commemorates the "sleeping" or death of the Theotokos (Mary, the mother of Jesus), and her resurrection before being taken up into heaven. It is celebrated on August 15.

Often called "The Easter of the Summer" it's a feast of great significance here in Greece.
