Brocante Day

This was the view from my terrace yesterday afternoon. The annual brocante in my village is one of the largest in my region, and is a major event. A brocant is an antiques and second-hand market. The stall-holders start turning up a 5 a.m. so this sleepy little place, becomes a place that never sleeps. I throw a barbecue and party each year for our friends on this day. After a multitude of summer parties, we all get together to toast the summer fading fast and our good times together.
