It blinked!

I finally got to see the blinking bridge in action and very impressive it was too.

Of course, it would turn out to be on an occasion when I actually wanted to cross it to the other side. We'd arranged to meet a former colleague for lunch in the Pitcher and Piano, which is that low glass fronted building opposite. Once they'd persuaded the tourists to vacate the bridge it tipped up in a very smooth and stately fashion. This is as far as it went - then it went straight back down again. The whole thing only took about 15 minutes.
