The Silver Birch...

...is a dainty lady, she wears a satin gown.

This one certainly used to be a dainty lady. It has stood in the middle of that piece of grass for my entire memory. It was beautiful up until a couple of years back when it just started to die and today the council came and cut her down.

It was quite poignant for me watching the children watching that tree come down. That tree features so much in my childhood memories and their memories of it will be so different to mine.

Quite sad really.
