Origin of "Pop Goes the Weasel"
While touring my ancestors' first home here in America during the annual family reunion, this original hand-painted set of spinning wheel and weasel were pointed out. When yarn is spun on the wheel, its end is attached to the weasel, and when it goes around 100 times, the weasel "pops" the yarn off in order to make a finished skein. Hopefully that's an interesting piece of trivia for you too!
