Camping: Day 6
Camping Day 6. Wednesday. The hump of the vacation. Everyone is starting to feel a little tired. In need of a quick pick me up. Our feet have been dirty for days. Everything you do is a challenge........hello SPAGHETTI NIGHT!
Spaghetti. A common food and dinner here in the states. Maybe you like it, maybe you don't. But let me tell you this. When you are camping and you are sitting mid week. Nothing in the world sounds better than spaghetti night. Comfort food. Homemade chunky meat sauce. More noodles than you can handle. Warm and soft buttered bread. A caesar salad. Appetizer of cherry tomato, basil and mozzarella on a stick.
And......drum roll please. Red wine tasting night. My favorite tasting of the week. The presenter (in this case our pregnant camper) prepares all the wines by wrapping them up tight in brown bags so you can't see the label. Each bottle is corked and placed on the table with a number attached. Taped to the table in front of it is a piece of paper that says, "comments". You go around the table with your little cup and you sample each of the wines. Then you get to leave a comment and the comments are hilarious. I make sure that each of mine are as completely off the wall as possible....just for the laugh. This year, my comments were short stories. And yes, I got the laughs that I was going for.
Spaghetti night......always a fave!
