Tintin mural
If you say Brussels, you say comics. And if you say comics, you say Tintin!
Tintin, one of the most famous comic heros is forever linked with brussels. Hergé (the creator of Tintin) was born and raised in Brussels and lived and worked here until his death in 1983.
Tintin is still present in places all across the city. For example in the Stockel metro station in the east end of the city. Shortly before his death, Hergé drew a huge 135-metre mural featuring 140 characters from the 22 comic Tintin books for the station. It is quite impressive!
