Joseph head
Many years ago I used to mow a graveyard. One hot, summer's day I ventured with the mower into a wilderness area, where the very old graves were situated. The weeds and grass were almost waist high, and I couldn't really see what I was cutting. Suddenly the blades gave a funny crunch and this carved wooden head was spat out. Thankfully it had escaped serious damage. I could find not other parts and how it came to be lost in the graveyard, separated from it's body, is a mystery.
I call it my Joseph head as I'm sure it originally came from a nativity figure. It sits in front of a postcard of a sculpture by Jim Staines.
