Thistle Down

Pillow Fight

I never had a pillow fight,
Nor was in any plays.
I never tried to destroy things,
Or had some roughened ways.

My mother said to me,
Be sweet...like lovely Katie.
And in your acts unto another,
Always be a lady.

Never hit to hurt someone,
Just little taps of love.
Eager in your skirmishes,
To be a cooing dove.

Pillow-fights are very wild,
You bust them on the head.
And sneak from out of corners,
In an unpredicted tread.

There's rowdiness around the house,
You cannot help but shout.
Especially when the pillow splits,
And lets the feathers out.
