The delight of puddles
is maybe not something children in Britain have felt for some time, but Agu was so excited to suggest he put his wellies on this morning. We splashed our way to the village. The local independent bookshop, Pritchards was just emptying their window display. We had missed Julia Donaldson, of Grufalo fame, by a few hours. However, the very helpful staff rushed out on hearing our dismay to tell us they still had some signed copies left and she was still in Crosby. Two phone calls secured a couple of copies with personal inscriptions. Hurray for all concerned.
After comparing the cafe culture of Formby to Soller, we found it wasn't that different, as we spotted Jenny within minutes. The remainder of the afternoon was spent discovering the delights of flooring for Mrs Pepperpot and a trip to Dobbies. I took some shots there for the benefit of orisit's mum. She can explain the link better than I.
So my thoughts have returned to the writing of the childrens' book I have in my head. And now I have my new notebook, I really have no excuse not to dive right in.
