A bigger splash!
Sunday in Chateau Renault! it is an extraordinary little place - there is just no-one around! We entertained ourselves first by watching what Barry has so far filmed. He is making a short animated film called Plume; basically the plot centres on a central winged figure, the embodiment of innocence. He looses his ability to fly and is attacked by the shadows. Here it gets nasty. it is going to be something very special, very emotional! I have added a link should anyone like to see more of Barry's work Barry Purves. We helped him do a little repair work to the puppets then ventured out into the town. We found an attractive walk along the river then lunched in the grounds of the Chateau. In the afternoon we went to the open air piscine. The weather was not brilliant but spot the mad dogs and Englishmen - yes, we were the only ones in the pool and were viewed with some amazement by the lifeguard. Cold but not as cold as Irish water! This is Barry doing his Hockney thing and pretending it's LA!
Early evening we had the joy of watching Amelie in our own private cinema - part of the animation studio, then we went to the local restaurant which, being France, was excellent.
We walked home to our gite - a mile beyond the cemetery! Today thankfully the street lights were still on and we didn't get lost!
