Touch for Luck

So, we have headed out of Vegas and are now at the Grand Canyon. Amazing scenery en route and we all got excited about seeing our first bona fide, not in a garden centre, cactus.

We stopped at the Hoover Dam, where Tom insisted on rubbing the feet of the Winged Figures of the Republic, which apparently gives us good luck. Seeing as, at the time, Ava was whining she was hot and Toby was whingeing he was hungry, I was a little skeptical. However, due to the joys of an air conditioned car and an iPad filled with movies, we enjoyed a relatively quiet journey, so perhaps it works after all.
