BEWARE! ... Mutant Chickens!

Are they chickens? ... Are they ducks? ... I guess you could call them CHUCKS!

For those who would ever see one of these very strange looking waterfowls, they are actually called Muscovy.

They originate from South America where they were domesticated.
A significant population exists in Florida and southern Texas.

There have been reports of flocks or individual birds in Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, New York, Virginia and Canada.

Although the Muscovy duck is a tropical bird, it adapts to icy and snowy conditions down to 0° Celsius and below without ill effects.

Another strange thing about these ducks is they have no vocal cords so they cannot quack.

The males make a huffing or whisper sound, the hens make a very quiet odd hissing sound.
