First Macro Blip!

Last Thursday I bought my first macro lens and today is the first opportunity that I've had to blip with it.

I'm a fledgling photographer and am finding the macro to be good fun, but also tricky and I know it'll be a while before I'll be blipping dragonflies or hoverflies.

I'm undecided about this image and whether it's softly abstract, or just a bit out of focus. Either way, it's a flower from a bunch that my parents bought me when they were visiting this weekend and I wanted to capture its transient beauty.

Any tips on using a macro would be much appreciated - one thing I do know, is that I really need to buy a tripod!
