A fresh try
I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning.
J. B. Priestley
My other passion, painting...I'm working, about 6 hours into it, on an oil portrait of my maternal grandfather. It's circa 1915, when he was the Quartermaster on the U.S. Lighthouse Service Tender(a vessel that went up and down the coast with supplies for lighthouses and setting buoys), the U.S.S.Zizania. It's a work in progress, rough in lots of spots, but it looks like my Grampa as of yesterday afternoon, and I'm heading to my painting group for a day of work with real excitement.
Well, he's nearly finished, just more work on his hands when this layer of paint dries a bit.
