dinner time
these two babies were born about four day's ago. When our calves are born unfortunatley we have to remove them from there mother almost strait away for two reasons. One dairy cows are herific mother and number two due to a disease that if past on from mother to calf would affect the future of our herd. But at this point I turn into a worried mother all the time, in the last four days i have been training these calves to drink from these specially desined feeders. For the first 5-6 days of there life we feed them two litres of milk twice aday then after this they get feed inbetween 4 and 5 litres once a day they seem to grow better like this. Beacse at the end of the day these little baby's are potentialy worhg £2000 to us and they are also the future of our herd so as you can imagine animal welfare and health become number one priority. But i love to play with them they can be funny little things.
