Murakami festival in Oslo

Haruki Murakami is in Oslo. He is a very prestigous/popular Japanese author. He will be speaking at the Oslo Literature House on Monday but until then the OLH is full of Murakami events. Tonight I was there and a Norwegian author, Frode Gryttens held an amazing lecture about Murakami and his literature.

This photo was taken at the end when Grytten and 3 others were "driving the Murakami Car", wearing Murakami masks. Those of you who have read Murakami will understand how what might seem absurd is in fact very appropriate when discussing this author. They were "driving" to the music of a Japanese artist and with wonderful photographs in the background. The photogapher was also Japanese but Im sorry to admit that I missed her name....I will try to find it because not only does she deserve credit here....but I would love to see more of her work.
