On The Sofa

Dear blipfoto viewers, please excuse yet ANOTHER cat-related blip!

Today we made further progress towards Smudge's full integration into the family. This morning we moved her cage into the sitting room, and, since all went well, we let her out of the cage this afternoon. She went for a good explore round the house, seemed to find it very much to her liking, and then settled down on the Wonderspouse's sofa.

She and Pebbles seem to have no problem with each other at all. We'll be putting her back in the cage before we let Felix and Tiggy in for supper, and it'll be interesting to see what happens. She'll go back into the utility room when we go to bed, so that everyone has their own space clearly defined.

So far so good though. It's so lovely to have her out and about but we don't want to rush anything either. If we take things too quickly, then rifts and resentments may form that will take a very long time to heal, but on the other hand, we have to keep making progress every day.

We'd like to have Smudge pretty well settled before Dexter's arrival in September, and we hope to have both of them properly settled into cat life here before winter starts causing hassles with cats going outside and before I start to return to work.
