Patriotism
We went to the Tri-Nations Rugby match between South Africa and New Zeeland this afternoon. It was the first ever rugby match to be played at the Soccer City Stadium (now known as the National Stadium) and drew a capacity crowd of more than 90 000 supporters.
The stadium was a sea of green jerseys and rainbow flags, in support of our beloved Springboks. It was a really good game, which we managed to throw away in the very last minute, resulting in a 29-22 victory to the All Blacks!
Ever the optimists, we all left the stadium reminding one another that our Springboks also lost the Tri-Nations before taking the World Cup in 2007... our hopes are alive and well for 2011:)
