EEEEEk!
On my way home... the first stage driving to Chicago. Blimey the trucks are big here. I have spent the week in a SUV (a ford explorer) and actually enjoyed the experience (please don't berate me too much BG & EG), I can really understand why they are so popular. However with Gas (or petrol to the rest of the world) at $3 a gallon, and the SUV averaging 15 mpg, I think they may (righly so) be on borrowed time.
Aside from keeping BP in business, I have had a really great week. Last Sunday I had mixed feelings about visiting the US for the first time, the experience of O'Hare airport immigration (which apparently was smooth) did nothing to remove my negative thoughts about the USA. Having spent the week in the Mid West, I have met some great people, ate some fantastic food (European portions even!), seen some great thunderstorms & lightening and even been in the vicinity of a tonado warning. I am now of a slightly different opinion about the US. I dislike Chicago airport and traffic and think the Mid West is alright!!!
I really can't wait to be back, I still prefer places in Europe, but I want to explore the US more. I suppose thats just the travel bug.....
