Wedding Anniversary!
What a lovely day! Today we celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We drove into the Dales and walked round Grimwith Reservoir in the company of grouse, pheasants, rabbits, ducks and geese - and no people! The heather moorlands around the reservoir were magnificent in their purple. Then we moved on to Burnsall and had a very fine lunch in the Red Lion. We both had roast lamb with the largest Yorkshire Puddings you have seen! My dessert was a rhubarb trifle with Amaretto biscuits soaked in something deliciously alcoholic, topped with custard filled with pistachios, cream and fresh strawberry - all washed down with a very nice Shiraz, thankyou.
As we were well stuffed by now, we decided to walk up to Simon's Seat. Our blip is shot on the self-timer with the camera precariously perched on top of the trig point. Subscribers to my journal may recall my rant about Dartmoor tors. Enough to say that Simon's Seat is a serious bit of rock - no contest!
Forgot to say, I wore my (fake) pearl earrings but was disappointed not to come home with a fridge magnet!
