Elchos of the Past

At the far end of Shawlands where I grew up there was a pub called the Elcho Bar, where the late great Jim Baxter used to hang out (on his way to an early grave from alcoholism, it must be said.)

Elcho Castle is just a few miles outside Perth. And despite living here for 23 years I'd never been there. Until today that is.

Although it's not occupied it is kept quite wind and weather-proof. I was pleasantly surprised, and will certainly be back. Probably in a few weeks to plunder some more of the fruit from the orchard!

All this was in between undercoat and gloss finish to the living room main window. We're getting there.
