Red hot Texas chilli

Rain, rain, rain for most of the day. I decided to make use of our conservatory and take an indoor close up of a streptocarpus flower called Red hot Texas chilli. We grow lots of varieties of streptocarpus in this house and this is one of our newer ones.

I was short of time and the result was problematic. Firstly there were other blooms in the background, creating a confusion behind the image. Secondly the white card I used was too close so the texture showed up.

In desperation I tried applying a solarisation technique and this is the result. Will try again for a coloured close-up flower another day.
