Went for a 10K run tonight in preparation for the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow, a week on Sunday. Felt really good until 8k, when I started to blow hard. I stuck with it (mainly because a really cool tune came on my iPod) and I turned in a credible 61mins for the whole run; not bad for a 41 year old, overweight, former front row forward. I'm running for the British Heart Foundation, which one unkind wag at work has suggested is an insurance policy for me...cheeky monkey.
