Crazy weather

We got up to disover that the thunderstorm hadn't cleared up over night and was, in fact, still going strong. Not that we were too worried it was quite fun sat on the balcony watching huge bursts of forked lightning. It was still warm too so it was an entertaining and cheap morning.

It got even better too as you can probably see from the photo. It was my mum who first spotter a tornado forming behind the headland across the bay. We must have seen about twenty of them forming there. Fortunately they weren't hitting land (although we later found out that Palma was on high alerd and had water a metre deep on the streets in some places.) After a while the storm moved over a bit and we started seeing the tornadoes forming over open water. It was fascinating first you'd see the watter whipping up at sea level then a spiral of water rising up. next the cluod would start coming down to meet it and the result was what you can see here. If you're interested you can see one behind the headland here.

Surprisingly it all cleared up into the afternoon and we got a really nice evening.
