Apricot Memories

I had a head-slapping moment today. I bit into a perfectly ripe apricot I had bought moments before at the health food store and noticed a nice pit inside, almost loose inside the apricot. I wondered what would happen if I planted it, and then remembered I had put a grapefruit seed in between wet paper towels and stored in darkness atop the fridge. Since I write the date on everything, it was easy to determine that I began my grapefruit experiment on July 26, over 4 weeks ago. The seed is now reseting comfortably in my outdoor garden bed. No idea if it'll "take," but if it does I'll try to keep it warm over the winter.
