Redundant

Pointless, unnecessary, serving no useful purpose. The Lexmark factory in Rosyth closed in January 2006 with the loss of 700 jobs but the building's still there, empty and guarded by Ghurka Security Services. Cycled through the grounds tonight on the way back from the station and it looks a bit post-holocaust, like the cycling employees had all gone home, leaving their locks there for tomorrow except tomorrow never came. Nearly five years later they're still there. Redundant.
