Nesting Instinct
This feathered friend is a swallow who is currently nesting for the second time this year in the Archaeolink Iron Age Roundhouse. I had the delight of watching her first clutch of eggs hatch and both parent birds feeding the chicks till they all flew away! Then a few days later, mam and dad were back building a new nest! It's utterly amazing. They are such beautiful little birds with their orange and blue faces, and dark blue forked tails. So - wishing mammy bird well on her second clutch. Wildlife, it's never far away!
