A Hundred Degree Day
The thermometer in Indio, CA cracked the 100ºF mark at about 9:30 this morning making photography difficult. It is hard to think when it gets that hot and it is even more difficult motivating oneself to get outside and search for photo subjects.
I, therefore, spent a good part of the day in the complex pool. Even that was not much respite from the staggering heat because the pool water had been super heated by days of plus 100º temperatures. I had my trusty underwater point and shoot with me and spent some time trying a variety of compositions with this floating leaf. This one turned out the most pleasing. I like the balance of the leaf and the pool ladder, plus I managed to get the underside of the leaf correctly exposed.
I might have to make a series of underwater shots as the temperature is forecast to be over 110º for next several days.
