The Catacombs

We went to the Catacombs - I don't really know what I expected. All I can say is, I'm glad I'm not particuarly claustrophobic. I was shocked by how quickly I got used to the dark and, more worryingly perhaps, being surrounded by skeletons. As I walked through the tunnels, they became less like people that used to walk and talk and more like something of art - a wall, a pattern, a scuplture. It was a very strange and memorable experience. My best friend took a torch - always prepared!
