A Canterbury Tail

Road / Rail Bridge Highway 67

Had a lovely weekend on the West Coast, no internet access so back blips start here.

I had lots of nice scenic shots taken from the Rimu Gold Heritage Trail (see Barkings shot here), a few really grungy run down huts and the clock tower in Hokitika to choose from today. However when I saw the Blipblog this week was Blip Madness I had to choose this photo.

This bridge is on the main North / South highway on the West Coast of the South Island. I'm sure any blippers who have been to NZ will recognise it. Its quite mad. There aren't many one lane bridges that share a main road with a rail track, South Island has a couple.

The bridge is mad enough, kneeling down on the train tracks, in the middle of the main North / South highway on the last day of a long weekend (think Bank holiday in the UK) at leaving for home time, all in the name of taking a blip. Makes this suitable for the new assignment that I wasn't aware of at the time.

Blip Madness indeed!
