Vertigo

Gray today and rain expected, but really gusty winds predicted for tomorrow, so we chose today to head up Mt. Taranaki/Egmont. We did the Holly Hut trek up past the snow-line. It was really great.

The mountain peak was poking a little hole through the clouds, so we got a few glimpses on our way up.

This shot here is of the most exposed part of the trail. It's about a 30 meter stretch across the top of a ridge with no bush to block the wind. This was on our way back down, just in time before the heavy rain came.
