Venice, here we come!
We set off from Edinburgh to Venice via Amsterdam. This was over the Italian Alps I think. A lot of climbing to be done down there.
I think I am of a weird generation.
When I fly, it is still a huge thrill for me.
I know that almost everyone on the plane is looking at me strangely from behind their books/laptops/magazines while I take pictures of the incredible scenes which are passing below me.
I don't care.
It is still a surreal experience for me.
I don't care if the rest of the passengers are unmoved by the fact that they are moving at 500 MPH at a height of 34,000 feet.
I am like a child in Santas Grotto.
So many amazing things to see and experience.
The sunny day hiding above the clouds.
The mountains rearing up through the cotton wool blanket.
The obvious curve of the earth spreading out to either side of my plastic looking glass.
The brief thought that the plane could plummet earthward - and I would have no fear if it did.
I am Happy.
I have known the exquisite love my true soul mate, and I will die happy, no matter when that is.
