Sentimental

This is the paddle-steamer Waverley snapped in drizzly fading light over the garden wall this evening. Other blippers have taken better photos of her recently.

Sentimental because today marks the end of the summer season with Waverley transporting passengers to Cowal Games where massed bands of 1,000 pipers play together at dusk. It's a genuinely spine-tingling moment.

Sentimental because, though I grew up with the tradition, I've become a fairweather games-goer and it was far too cold and blustery for me to make the trip today. And now I've come over all sentimental like a misty-eyed ex-pat hunting out these clips. Coulda, woulda, shoulda got on the boat this morning - next year. Promise.
