Coventry War Memorial

It was such a sunny day that we decided to take my mum to the Memorial Park and walked past the Memorial.... she told us how, when she was younger she was able to go inside and see the names of her grandparents in the books there.


The War Memorial Park was set up in 1921 in memory of a number of soldiers who fell during the first world war between 1914 and 1918. The land was originally owned by the Lords of Stivichale Manor -The Gregory-Hood Family and at this time was part farmland and woods. The land was later sold to the council in order that the park be created.
