Schoenebecker Strasse No. 104

Exactly one year ago I started publishing pictures in this community.

Like many others I was fascinated by the unique concept of publishing exactly one picture per day, of that day.

I was curious whether I could hold up with the challenge of taking pictures everyday. Through this process I also wanted to find out whether or not I want to devote more time to photography or not. I went through good and hard times in this first blip year, became eager to publish on time to get as many clicks as possible, and spent hours on commenting on other blips.
When my journal appeared on the popular journal list, I became even more eager and therefore sometimes didn't care about other duties.

My time in Canada showed me how hard it can be to take satisfying pictures when I had too much to do with studying and working.
E.g. I hesitated a long time to upload pictures like this one - which I finally uploaded today - because they don't meet my self-set standards. On the other hand they still document a meaningful period in my life.

After this one year the structure of the community, as well as the "feeling" of blipfoto has changed qute a bit for me - nonetheless it is still one of the most fascinating places for me on the world wide web.

So lets see how it looks like in one year from now.

PS:

I also plan to do some research about the structure of the community for my studies.
I want to look on why and how people, join and leave, on the influence of the site design on the publishing behavior, the role of comments and connections between people, and more.
I hope it is ok if I contact some of you during the next months with some questions regarding blipfoto.
