What a fun day we've all had.

I'm very lucky that my birthday invariably falls on a Bank Holiday weekend and this year is no exception as I turn 21 (again!) on Monday.

So we thought we'd have a few friends over for a BBQ.

That's a BBQ in the true British sense over the word.

Much debate before everyone arrived, whether it was warm enough or indeed too windy to sit outside. But we decided we had plenty of fleeces should anyone got cold - and figured what's a bit of wind between friends!

So table set outside though just as everyone arrived - the first wee spots of rain.

But we figured it was just a passing moment - so stayed outside.

Then more spots came down - so more debate - and I made the executive decision to move inside.

And no sooner than we'd got everything in, the heavens opened!

So the rest of the BBQ was inside.

Then the sun came out again so we finished off back outside.

Summers in the UK - don't you just love them!

This adorable wee girl is Isobel - daughter of our good friends - Mandy and Stephen - she calls James "naughty, cheeky James" - but I reckon she looks pretty naughty and cheeky here!
