Lomond Limekiln
I read this article by Dave Hewitt in the Caledonian Mercury last week and thought it sounded like a good walk. What better time to give it a go than Bank Holiday Monday?
The route basically follows the skyline in this blip from a colder month!
Excellent weather today, lots of wildlife. I passed this old limekiln which had a series of information panels beside the path. I never knew the Lomonds were made of limestone until today. The high peaks themselves are old volcanoes that have intruded into the sandstone&limestone bedrock. In the background is West Lomond - which provided a superior viewpoint. I could see from Ben Ledi to the Cairngorms.
