The Diceman

Thom McGinty (The Diceman) was a mime/street artist who was very well known to all people of my age from Dublin. His motionless, stark appearance was often to be seen on Grafton Street. It wasn't until I came to live in this town that I came to know that his mother lived here and he considered here to be his real home.

As part of the Street Festival, a plaque was launched outside the courthouse, in his honour. His mother was the guest and there was a small gathering to mark this fondly remembered character.
