Paradise Island indeed...

We docked at Nassau, Bahamas for the afternoon and evening. It was hot, hot, hot - SFP 30 wasn't enough for me, so I had to sit in the shade for part of the afternoon. I also got my hair partially braided by one of the women on the beach. The locals weren't as nice as I was hoping, but we were in the tourist areas, so perhaps that was it.

This is the view from the beach on Paradise Island - the water was so beautiful, amazing color and the sky was just as interesting. Bobbling up and down in the water, listening to the surf, was something I could have done for hours. What a peaceful and meditative quality it had - even when I was getting salt water in my mouth and eyes! :) It's something I tried to capture in my mind to escape to when I need it - I can't even begin to explain it, but it brought me great peace.

It was worth it... boy was it worth it.
