Monkey, Monkey, Monkey..
Birthday cake season is upon us. Bruno turns 5 next week, surreal!
He is obsessed with monkeys, as well as graffiti..
For his cake, it is going to be a monkey cake.. for a long while I could not decide on what exactly the cake would look like, and it occured to me, the thought of just making a monkey head, didn't sit very comfortably.. there's something off putting about eating into just a head.

So, 3 monkeys it is. Instead of the usual birthday hats, as the party is monkey themed (honestly, the boy calls his father a gibbon, I only get as high as chimpanze status!) the birthday hats for the wee kids (ok and adults too probably) are banana skins, made out of felt, so the monkeys on the cake could only have banana skins on their heads too.. apart from the cheeky one... I can't work out if they are all singing Happy Birthday in different keys, or what... Paul did come out and ask if one was a...'special needs monkey'.. as only Paul would!

A monkey on your cake, has to be better than a monkey on your back.
