The incident happened on Sunday night and by Monday morning they'd identified the culprits and were able to tell me that they'd be arresting them that evening. The officer thought (for various reasons) that the case would come to court and I'd be needed as a witness. Due to certain circumstances, this would happen in a way that meant I wouldn't have to see or be seen by the 'defendants'. Bit daunting, but if it stopped them treating other people in the way they treated the station staff and me, or it got them banned from the trains, then it would be worth it.
