From the beginning.

Bubbles

I really want to take photos of people.
Yet sitting at home, alone, wanting to get shutter practice ... this is what you end up with !

I blame my pal Faye.
I liked her washing-up-sud photo, but wanted not to copy-cat exaclty ... so a boiling pan of water became my creator of slightly more violent bubbles.

Main problem with boiling water is steam, and lots of it !
Hence Manual focus.
Hence fan heater to blow it all away.
Hence VERY hot kitchen !

... something about walking before running ?

Also discovered that my inherited tripod is rather old and rickerty, so i feel yet more expense knocking on my door.

Used a long lens to keep my lovely new (new to me!) camera & lens away from the steam.

Flash YN467.
Max power. Manual mode. Hand held. Cactus trigger.
Flash oriented along the line of ,and close to the lens.
Lens hood extended.

And after all that, I had to swallow my pride and alter the contrast PC-side.
Gutted.

... and there was me thinking I could just boil some water, snap it, go to bed!?

Don't think I'd mind the effort if i particularly liked the end result.
Still, posting anyway as it's all part of a journey.
