The view from Alf's
I crave the same two things in life as Ed Reardon: solitude and wifi. So I've stopped off in Dartmouth for a few days on my way to visit friends and family in Cornwall. I'm staying at the flat above Café Alf Resco again, and this is the view from my balcony.
With its large writing table, wifi, award-winning breakfasts downstairs - and this view - I find it conducive to writing. I wrote a third of my book here one week in June last year. This time I'm kicking off a new project.
This place also feels reassuringly remote, since the only way to get here (without a car) is by steam train and boat. But it's not as remote as where I'll be next week...
