Resting Hummer

Resting and digesting its meal after gorging itself on the nectar of our Autumn Sage plant.

This is Costa's Hummingbird, notable by a short tail and wingtips that reach the tip of (her) tail.

Just finished reading 'The Secret Lives of Hummingbirds' which noted among other interesting facts that Hummers have tiny feet and rarely walk.

The tiny feet are ideal for grasping branches, but even when turning around on a branch, they will fly, turn around in the air, and reland in the other direction. This bird did that maneuver and I have shots of (her) facing in opposite directions.
