That was the time

Today was something else.

I went to slimming world with my shopping bags planning to buy shoes and groceries and go home to rest. Then my mum rang announcing that my aunt was coming over and would I like to go.

A series of crossed wires later I ended up at mums with no new shoes and no groceries and a pair of boots on my feet that I intensely disliked (bought them several years ago and have always disliked them)

A family has been staying at mum's, great friends they are, and they were going home, so it was nice to be able to surprise them and hug them and wave them off... except that while all the hugging and kissing was going on a scream erupted from the tree nearby that had 3 mothers spinning round and running and froze everyone else's blood. One of the lads who lives at mums with his family had been tree-climbing with his little brother and in trying to help his brother he fell from the tree; not from a huge height, but far enough to break his arm.

Forget meeting auntie, I was drafted in to help get the lad and his siblings to the local hospital.

Finally we got back to mum's and to a late tea and time to chat with my auntie and my cousins. It was nice if brief, the girls had school in the morning.

Finally I got to sit and chat with my mum and a couple of friends, and sometime after 10pm I got a lift back to town to whizz at high speed round the supermarket and then get the 23:18 bus home.
