Back to School!

First day of term... Friday seems a bizarre day on which to return but hey...who am I to argue?

Anyway...we have a tradition in our household which says I photograph Henry on the the first day of term (when he looks all cute and smart ;-) and then if the official school photo later on in the year is nicer I buy it...so far I have never bought a school photo!

Off to school he goes and did I get a kiss? A hug? A backward glance? Nope...my wee man disappeared through the double doors with his friends and new teacher nattering nineteen-to-the-dozen and was gone!

My little mate has gone so now it's just me and Noah...and conversations which go, 'Car!' 'Bird', 'Go', etc.

This morning Noah actually strung two words together...'Dat car.' Now I was never very good at the whole competitive parent thing when Henry was tiny but I do know that stringing two words together at twelve months classes as 'very bright' in competitive parenting circles. My child is clearly a genius! I'll leave out the fact that he was pointing at the dog at the time! Hmmm...maybe I'm not quite ready to be a competitive parent yet <grin>
